If you have read through the pages on our website you  get a sense that as a group the BDWF try to make your week as easy as possible.  All you have to do is turn up and walk, and leave all the hard work to us!

Becoming a member of the BDWF means that in order to participate in the week all you need to do is a couple of things:

  • Complete the BDWF membership form
  • Complete your Nijmegen application form and medical form
  • Pay
  • And finally, unless you have chosen to leave from Swindon using the coach, you need to get yourself there.

As a member you will be able to use the first aid facilities, have accommodation at the sports hall arranged for you as well as your food from Monday to Saturday morning. Transport laid on to ferry you to and from the start every day.

To become a member please request an application form from

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee accommodation for every member as the Sportshall will only allow us to sleep a finite amount of people due to fire regulations, so you should try to get your application forms in as early as possible.

Please note – the BDWF cannot guarantee you will be given a place to take part in the walk.

As the case has been for the past couple of years too many people have registered to walk and a certain majority of these applications have been entered into the lottery system by the KNBLO, mainly first time walkers and those who have not participated in several years. If you are entered into the lottery system and your application is unsuccessful then your deposit will be refunded.

The BDWF have no say in the lottery and cannot do anything to “get you through” It is purely down to luck, more information can be found at

If you choose to participate in the event with us and then through your own choice choose to withdraw, your deposit is non-refundable.
